SMLS steel pipe or ERW steel pipe?

With the improvement on technology of ERW steel pipe making and SMLS steel pipe production, we know the difference is narrow down. However, there is still detailed difference we should focus on when we purchase it.

Precision: ERW steel pipe has smaller deviation than seamless steel pipe in diameter and wall thickness in precision. Due to the rolling difference and pipe forming technology. Thus we should choose the steel pipe according the precision requirement.

Mechanical properties: Talking about the heating treatment, controlled rolling, we should figure out that welded steel pipe has advantages to achieve those demands during the production. For example, Longitudinal welded pipe’s elongation of 8% to 10% which is higher than the seamless pipe, mainly vertical welded pipe carbon ratio of about 1/2 of seamless steel pipe.
