Exposure to moisture of steel pipe
Clients would think about the quality guarantee period for steel pipe if they’ve made by similar material and process. What would you choose from seamless steel pipe, ERW steel pipe and galvanized steel pipe for the engineering project.
Generally speaking, we should account the different situation for different choice. High pressure work environment would choose seamless steel pipe due to its special production process. Of course, for general residential water pipes, editor thinks that galvanized steel pipe is also nice. And here is the trouble: the protective zinc layer will erode due to constant exposure to moisture.
How do you think about this question? Generally speaking, all kinds of pipelines such as wood, lead, copper, paper fiber, concrete and plastics can be used to transport water for residential customers. And all of them need to be exposure into the air, moisture. So this problem is not just for steel pipe. Under this situation, the zinc would protect the steel pipe from damage of air and moisture which will decrease the harm from them.
